Onyx

A chalcedony, which is made up of a variety of the micro-crystalline quartz, formed when lava gas cavities is being deposited with silica resulting in the unique bands or stripes exhibit in Onyx. It is often black in color, but there are also brown, pink, red, green, and colorless Onyx stones.

Major sources of Onyx are Mexico, Madagascar, India, Afghanistan, USA, Peru, and Brazil.
